However, back to school and routine today so it'll be all systems go again.  Especially as I have 4 markets coming up between now and Christmas, and I don't think I have enough stock. Aaaaahhhhhh!!!

Etsy and Toejam Market

Image
Mine and Sara's table from the market today.  Didn't go so well - it was really cold, and very badly attended.  I sold two toys, Sara sold 1 apron. Ah well! An apologies in advance for the lack of posts over the next few weeks - I will be furiously sewing and knitting in preparation for the next four markets I've signed up to.

All Systems Go!

DH out, kids asleep in their beds, time to get some serious sewing done for all the upcoming Christmas markets.

One for the upcoming markets, And one for my god-daughter's 6th birthday (just hope it fits!)

Many many hearts1

Image
I've been feeling a little demotivated - but that's probably because I spent a few days just knitting these little decorations: I'm not really one for knitting the same thing over and over - it gets boring! I now need to decorate them with beads, buttons, etc to make them look a bit more special, and sell-able!! I used the heart from my little ' Heart Wand' pattern .  Size 3.5mm needles and dk yarn.

Ballerina

Found these photos on the camera and realised I'd never put up a picture of the ballerina in her outfit.

Music Note Cupcakes

Image
Been a bit of a sick week in our house this week.Tummy bug all round. Today, however, needed some baking.  The parish is having an expo tomorrow to highlight the different groups in the church - I sing with the folk choir.  So I volunteered to make some buns for our table to tempt people over. Of course, I left it a little late to source materials so I didn't have any black food colouring for my music notes, made from marzipan.   Simple 'fairy' cakes with just glace icing, and the music notes popped on top. Not exactly shop quality but hopefully they'll do - I pictured them better in my head!

A Princess Dress for a Little Princess!

Image
Was in a bit of a creative funk the other night - you know when you've finished a project and aren't sure what you're going to do next? So I decided to make a princess dress for Emily and her friends' to use when dressing up.  It had occurred to me recently that something made for dress-up doesn't really need perfectly finished seams inside. So a furious night of sewing ensued.... Quite happy with it.

Ballerina Goodies

Image
Haven't blogged in a while - oops!  I have been crafting the whole time,. just keep forgetting to take pictures.  Or I remember when the kids are gone to bed, and then its too dark to get good photos. Last weekend I was away with DH - the folks looked after the kids.  DH was down in Cork for work so I got the train down on the Friday afternoon.  Three hours of uninterrupted knitting - oh yes! So over the weekend, and finished on the Monday night was the ballet wrap cardigan . Then I quickly made some little legwarmers . Now my little ballerina just needs a leotard - ha ha!!

A Fairy and her Fairy Doll

Image
I made makeshift wings for Emily's doll, on request.  And they both got the same hairdos - this is apparently a Tinkerbell hairdo. Must make a little pattern for the wings.  They're removable and so can be used on most of her toys.

Glendeer Pet Farm

Image
Myself and the kids recently enjoyed a lovely afternoon at Glendeer Pet Farm in Athlone, (courtesy of our Tesco clubcard vouchers!)  They give everyone a bag of food to feed the animals - Oliver couldn't quite figure it out right.  Hens.  Calf.  An old farmhouse done up to look like a traditional Irish cottage.  Petting the goats.  Baby chicks.  Oliver in front of the monkey enclosure - yes, monkeys!  Donkeys and llamas in the playground. Lots of fun as you can feed the animals and touch them all - not like at the zoo!  There were lots of covered areas so it would even be a good place to go when raining. We will definitely be back!
